Membership now open!

As we continue down the road of becoming an SCIO, we have changed our fees to reflect the upcoming changes to the group. Instead of one single membership fee, we have now divided the fees into- 'Friends of Auchtermuchty Theatre Group' and 'Production Membership Fees' The 'Friends of Auchtermuchty Theatre Group Fee' is for everyone who is interested in joining, supporting, volunteering or donating to ATG, this will cover you for 12 months- essentially replacing our current Membership Fee. 'Friends of Auchtermuchty Theatre Group Fee' is £10 for adults and £8 for children. This will be payable at auditions, our AGM, or throughout the year if you choose to become a Friend. The 'Production Membership Fee' is for all cast members of our productions. This is a new fee brought in by ATG, and will be applicable for each new production you join as a cast member. Why?! I hear you cry. Well, this is to help us cover the costs of licensing, venue booking fees, and other costs that crop up during productions. It is not unusual for Theatre Groups to have production fees for cast members, in fact, every other group across Fife has these charges in place. 'Production Membership Fee' is £10 for adults and £8 for children and will be payable at the first rehearsal of any show in which you are a cast member. Spelling Bee was a great success for the group, but unfortunately- we were absolutely hammered with licensing fees and royalties, leaving us with little surplus after the show. We want to be transparent with our community and members, so to try to alleviate some of the ever rising costs of staging productions, we have decided to introduce this new structure. We need to be sustainable, while still remaining affordable for everyone. It is important to us that nobody feels left behind- life is getting very expensive. If anyone has concerns about managing to cover the costs, please speak to a member of the committee or email info@atg.org.uk- this will be in complete confidence. Thank you all for reading and your continued support

AGM

The Theatre Group held their 2025 AGM on Friday the 28th of March. We would like to thank everyone who attended, it was great to see so many people turn out to support ATG and have such a positive meeting. We are pleased to officially announce that after a unanimous vote by all in attendance, ATG will now proceed with the process of changing our charity type to an SCIO. This will give the group greater opportunities moving into the future as we move forward with our plans for the group and of course it will allow us to pursue our application into the community asset transfer of the Victoria Hall.

Our New Committee

Our Auchtermuchty Theatre Group Committee for 2025/26 are as follows: Chair - Steph Gerrie Vice Chair - Lindsay Duff Secretary - Lizzy Gerrie Treasurer - Shaun Giles Child Safeguarding Officer - James Snowden Members - Emma Brown, Naomi Cooper, Whitney MacLeay, Struan Mackenzie, David Philson & Susan Wallace. We would also like give a huge shout out to Jack Mellis and thank him for his 2 years of service as our Youth Committee Member. We wish him all the best has he steps into the next chapter of his life- but of course that doesn't mean goodbye forever!

The Auchtermuchty Theatre Group has long been campaigning for the Victoria Hall to be salvaged and reopened for community use. There has been a significant amount of research and discussion for the potential of a community asset transfer of the Hall in the past. Most recently, the ATG committee has been conducting its own investigation and has taken all of this into consideration. It’s now a pleasure to announce the ATG committee has formally voted in favour to pursue the application for a Community Asset Transfer from Fife Council for the Victoria Hall to fall under its under its stewardship! This extensive application process is currently underway however it will take several months to complete and to confirm the outcome. If the application is successful, some immediate repairs and maintenance will be required prior to any public use. We are very excited about this venture which will not only salvage a beloved building here in Auchtermuchty but also provide a great opportunity for use by the wider surrounding communities. The Hall will be used to support the local communities by providing a suitable and welcoming venue for many groups to expand the types of activities available to all ages and interests. While we are very appreciative of the support we have received thus far, there are still many obstacles to overcome and further help and support in attaining this goal will still be needed. Details of this support will be provided when and as they are confirmed. Please keep an eye out for further updates which will be provided on the ATG website and socials. Any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact the ATG committee. We are looking forward to providing you exciting news and updates in the near future! ATG Committee
