Quiz of the Year (2).png

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who came along to join us at Auchtermuchty Bowling Club for the Quiz of the Year!

Together you helped raised almost £400 for the Theatre Group and we are so grateful to each and every one of you.

'The Quizards of Oz' became the first Quiz Champions of 2025 and took home another exquisite hamper put together by Jacqui Brand of Nethermyres Farm Shop!

The Wooden Spoon winners were 'The MacDuffers' who accepted their spoons with much dignity and got a huge cheer from the rest of the teams!

We were also pleased to help another community group Muchty Heritage by selling some of their 2025 calendars- which are still available to buy!

Thank you so much to our hosts, Steph and Naomi, our markers Emma, Jack & Duffy and our raffle team Whitney and Ailsa- team work makes the dream work!

Special thanks to Quizzy Lizzy for putting together another fabulous quiz! She will soon be sitting down to work on the next one!

The Easter Quiz will be coming your way in April!

The Victoria Hall

The Auchtermuchty Theatre Group has long been campaigning for the Victoria Hall to be salvaged and reopened for community use. There has been a significant amount of research and discussion for the potential of a community asset transfer of the Hall in the past.

Most recently, the ATG committee has been conducting its own investigation and has taken all of this into consideration. It’s now a pleasure to announce the ATG committee has formally voted in favour to pursue the application for a Community Asset Transfer from Fife Council for the Victoria Hall to fall under its under its stewardship!

This extensive application process is currently underway however it will take several months to complete and to confirm the outcome. If the application is successful, some immediate repairs and maintenance will be required prior to any public use.

We are very excited about this venture which will not only salvage a beloved building here in Auchtermuchty but also provide a great opportunity for use by the wider surrounding communities. The Hall will be used to support the local communities by providing a suitable and welcoming venue for many groups to expand the types of activities available to all ages and interests.

While we are very appreciative of the support we have received thus far, there are still many obstacles to overcome and further help and support in attaining this goal will still be needed.

Details of this support will be provided when and as they are confirmed. Please keep an eye out for further updates which will be provided on the ATG website and socials.

Any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact the ATG committee.

We are looking forward to providing you exciting news and updates in the near future!

AGM 2024

The Theatre Group held its Annual General Meeting on 26th April in the Church Hall where all the activities of the group and future plans were discussed. Donald Lothian announced his retirement from the Committee, but commented that he will stay on as a member and provide support and guidance where it is needed. A new committee was elected to serve the group, with many new faces coming on board.

Due to the continuation of the Victoria Hall being closed to the public, it is likely performances will remain in other venues for the time being. The option of moving to Strathmiglo Village Hall for the 2024 Pantomime was discussed, as this will involve less intensive work for the production team. This is not a permanent solution, as the Strathmiglo Village Hall also presents it's own limitations for the Theatre Group. It is has become apparent that other venues are not sustainable for the group, and without the Victoria Hall, the Theatre Group will continue to struggle.

DID YOU KNOW?

If you are one of the hundreds of people who have ever helped the Theatre Group is any way whatsoever, then you have helped raise over £20,000 for charities at home and abroad, whilst also giving the Group the funds to invest in lights, sound and stage equipment.  All this investment has allowed us, year on year, to produce quality pantomimes and plays for the entire family to enjoy. Auchtermuchty Theatre Group would like to say a massive THANK YOU!
